On one side I would like to believe in what you say, but on theothe rhand it was YOU whom stated in the very begining that you had been burned trading and wanted me to send a package of cds out first to you and that you send to me what you had to trade. Funny thing is you never mentioned being out of work nor having money troubles which I can fully understand.
But twice I got emails from you saying that a package was sent and neither one arrived to my house and later I sent emails to you which you did not reply to except 1, I sent a very sturn message to you in which your reply was "why should I send you anything if you are going to be this way to me" so I ask you, why should I believe you now?

I try to be kewl with anyone I am in contatc with, I have gone way out of my way to even help guys get a hold of hard to find items. Take 1 for example, the Blue Note concert with Vinnie. Some guys do not have it and I made a video cd and GAVE it away, my own cost on shipping and cds. I feel drummers should be able to see this stuff and not horde it like an only child syndrome. Some guys cannot afford to pay 50 bucks a pop for the DCI/Hudson videos and or books. Sometimes you have to help a guy out but not to apoint where it hurts the industry, but in the case of bootleg material such as the Blue Note there is no excuse to hold on to that and not share with others. My opinion, -but I got my break in this business from some well known players and I will continue to do the same for others in any way I can. whether is be gear, music, video gigs. I don't like liars though.........No excuse for that. It's a hard enough business to be in, know one deserves that head trip.

...I just hope I didn't set-up the stage 4 an elaborate excuse on that guy's part [my 2nd post, 10-27, on "Beware, Guys" topic, addressed toward gam-dude]. In that post, in addition to the other guidelines I listed that i try to follow, I forgot to mention that i send a money-order for the combination price of the blank/& perhaps case, return postage [what it cost me to send it there], & i round it off to the next higher whole # [hoo-hoo!], just for the guy's [who's send'g it to me] time; ESPECIALLY if he's send'g it for nothing in return]. A guy like Randy W is act'g honorably as a credit to this forum & drummers/musicians w/ integrity everywhere....

As of right now, no. I am doing one off gigs with acts like the Coasters and other vintage acts. I am playing with the Legends of DooWop tomorrow, but this is in Phoenix. I return to LA on the 9th of November for some studio stuff. Not much live work right now. Really slow. Has me a little nervous, good thing my wife works at Fender!

Randy, sorry to hear about your bad trading experience. Hopefully that's the exception rather than the rule.

On a lighter note, I just wanted to let it be known that I've traded a couple of times with some of the regulars on this board (I won't name names to protect the innocent!), and everyone has come through like a champ. No one has ever charged me for supplies or postage, nor have I charged anyone. I hope that everyone has been happy with what I sent them, and I certainly have been happy with everything that I've received.

For what it's worth, I don't subscribe to an "eye-for-an-eye" policy when it comes to trading. For one, not all of us have equal access to these bootleg gems. Furthermore, I don't think any of us are interested in rare recordings for the wrong reasons. We are all just die-hard fans that want to enjoy the artists, their music, and their playing. I don't have a very extensive collection myself, but I'm glad I've been able to do a little to help keep the positive vibe going.
